Conspecific versus heterospecific transmission of bacteria between plants shapes host specialization of the phyllosphere microbiome

Kyle M. Meyer, Isabella E. Muscettola, Ana Luisa S. Vasconcelos, Julia K. Sherman, C. Jessica E. Metcalf, Steven E. Lindow, Britt Koskella

Contributions: performed experiments, cultivated several plant species in the greenhouse, managed plant care in the greenhouse, collected quantitative data about plant health and fitness, processed plant and microbiome samples, participated in bacterial inoculation of experimental plants, developed a preliminary library of bacterial isolates, gained familiarity with molecular techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR, and ddPCR and participated in manuscript review and editing.
